Our Narnia Community

At Narnia Waratah we work closely with the wider St Philips Christian College Community and celebrate and participate in many of their school and community events.

These events include Book Week, Festival of Crazy Ideas, ANZAC service, Mother’s and Father’s Day events to name a few.

Some events we also currently support within our community is Pyjama Day to raise awareness of childhood Asthma. Our families also hold Bunning’s Barbeques to raise some money to subsidise visiting performers and to assist with our sponsor child.

Narnia Christian Preschool Gosford each year partake in various community based events such as Pj day in support of the local organization Coastal Shelter, Book Week and the Scholastic Book Fair, Crazy Sock Week, Teddy Bears Picnic, Special Person’s Morning/Afternoon Tea Events and different musical events held by St Philip’s Christian College Community. These are just some of the varying events we take part in to show our support for local and global events occurring in around our preschool.

At Narnia Port Stephens we work closely with the wider St Philips Christian College Community and celebrate and participate in many of their school and community events.

These events include book week, ANZAC day, school assembles, moove and groove activities and the faith and life program.   Our Prep children benefit from learning experiences that have been prepared and presented by Stage 2 students.  We also have the SPCC music teacher attend Narnia to teach our preschool children.

We have had visits from local dentist, police and the fire brigade.  We also hold family fun days for families to visit and meet the staff and have a look around.  There is the opportunity to join our parent committee.  We also participate in Bunnings BBQs and other fund raising activities to raise additional money for resources.

Meet our Sponsor Children

Our Sponsor Child at Narnia Waratah

Suvarna Raju Palnati (13/03/2002) comes from a very poor family.  His family includes parents and one younger brother.  His father left the family and went to far off places.  Since then his mother supports him.  They live in a tiled hut. Unable to provide for this child his mother approached Miriam children’s Home for help and support.

Our sponsor child at Narnia is Sneha Gunja, who lives in India.  Sneha lives with her parents along with her sister. Both her father and her mother work as daily wage labourers but only find work a few days of the month. They rely on the sponsorship program to keep Sneha in school.

David, aged 4, attends a preschool class.  His father died and he lives with his mother and 2 brothers. He lives in a tiny 2 room, mud brick hut.  His mother earns money from selling beads that she has made.  They live in a very remote area in rural Uganda.

Narnia families have committed to paying sponsorship each month for these to three boys, which covers food, clothes, accommodation and education in a Christian School. Our families regularly contribute money via the money boxes at Narnia. We encourage the children to look beyond themselves and to learn the principle of giving to others. The children learn about Moses, David and Suvarna and their homes in India.
