Good nutrition is very important to children and our centre encourages this by requesting that families provide healthy food for their child during the day.
Families supply lunch while the centre supplies drinks, morning and afternoon tea. The following are some suggestions of healthy food for your child to bring. These foods are in line with the Good for Kids, Good for Life program. At Narnia Cessnock Prep, families are required to provide morning and afternoon tea for their child.
Morning and Afternoon tea
Morning and Afternoon Tea is provided by the centre. At Narnia Cessnock Prep, families are to provide morning and afternoon tea.
Menus will be displayed at the centre. Please ensure staff are aware of dietary requirements for your child.
- Salad and vegie sticks,
- Biscuits and cheese,
- Baked beans,
- Savoury biscuits (beware of the salt content),
- Healthy fruit muffins.
No muesli bars, rollups, peanuts or nut products, chocolates or processed snacks that look like lollies.
Baby Bottle / Formula / Breast Milk
All baby bottles, formula or breast milk is to be supplied by the parents. Bottles and formula should be clearly labelled with the child’s name.
Breast milk contains the mother’s antibodies, which helps prevent illness in infants. Our service will encourage and support mothers of infants to provide expressed breast milk, or to visit Narnia to feed their infants.
